TV discussion: Where next for the fleet of British Drones leaving Afghanistan?

Summary

Transmitted 18 March 2014. Posted 13 April 2014. Updated 29 May 2022.

On 18 March 2014, the Islam Channel's Analysis programme was devoted entirely to drones. I appeared on the first half.

The programme was chaired by John Rees, and the panel consisted of:

While the title focused on UK drones, much of the discussion was devoted to drone strikes by the USA. Central to the discussion was a report on drones recently issued by Ben Emmerson of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Ben's specific title is "Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism." I was appearing on the programme at short notice and do not recall the Islam Channel directing me towards the report and therefore had not read it.
